Welcome to Textile Concrete Consultants
Textile Concrete Consultants CC is the home base of the inventor of textile concrete and has become the starting point for many applications. We help to develop and license projects, and undertake design and development work for clients.
Textile concrete is a South African concept, an import replacement product. The first intended application was as an alternative to asbestos fibre cement for roofing. It was soon being used to line ponds and as drain channels in deep level mines.

Textile concrete can be used to replace many materials:
- Wood - it weathers better, is cheaper,
- Fibreglass resin - water is cheaper than resin,
- Aluminium - it’s 12% lighter,
- Steel - it does not rust,
- Bronze - it’s affordable,
- 316 SS - it’s as good or better in sea water.
A grid plate has been in use as a boat launching ramp into a tidal estuary for seven years.
Experience
We have architects, engineers, designers, artists, sculptors, and landscapers who have 10 years experience with this “new material”. Companies with up to 50 years experience in their field have applied their expertise to customizing yarns, weaving and knitting, ultrasonically bonding / cutting, CNC laser processing etc., conversion technology.
Current Projects
Projects currently being evaluated include outdoor signage, wet and dry photo images on textile concrete plates, tiles, structures for the Rapid Rail Link or the 2010 FIFA World Cup, factory made / easy to assemble houses, water pipes, and artificial reefs.
