Textile concrete is flexible. Below, CemPly # 4® is shown flexing under its own weight.

CemPly # 4, bending through more than 90 degrees.

A textile concrete moulding is delivered straight; a flange along its top edge keeps it straight.

At the top of the picture below, a CemPly® moulding is used straight. Note the neat mitred corners, easy to achieve on site, with a little mortar mix.

Curved balcony.Textile concrete fixed to a (curved) balcony

On the balcony the top flange has been notched, so that the moulding will flex and conform to the required curvature. The moulding replaces wet plaster work on site; the plastering is still needed to undertake the installation of the moulding.

Any method of fixing can be used, including a cement mortar mix. Evenly spaced micro-cracking of the cement matrix of the moulding occurs. Painting fills the micro-cracks, and environmentally friendly water paints are used on textile concrete.
