Textile Concrete brings together patented textiles made under license by Standerton Mills, a company in the textile industry in South Africa for over 50 years, with concrete mix(es) developed to work synergistically with them. The customized dry concrete mixes are made by Cemcrete, who have been in the business for over 30 years; the company was started by Mr Graham Bendall based on 30 years experience gained in the cement industry.
Don Hourahane, who invented CemForce, has been in the plastics, rubber and composites industry in South Africa for more than 30 years. He used his expertise to replace Retiflex, a non-woven fibrillated mesh imported from Europe, with a spun composite yarn in a leno woven textile. The composite yarn was bonded by W. Lee Ultraplast, a company with over 30 years experience in the ultrasonics business.
