Cemcrete, a dry mix (cement) supplier and textile distributor, through inhouse and external artists and crafts people, are creating a new industry. For static applications fibreglass resin people have a job competing; those who were supplying landscape items have sought greener pastures. The African theme is not for everyone. In each country in Africa (it’s 50% bigger than USA and Canada) there are different crafts and images. Now there is a new material to use as a form of expression... pottery if dropped breaks... wood cracks and splits... straw thatch burns... people buy textile concrete because it’s a durable material. Art classes in schools are being taught to work with textile concrete.
